All'inizio degli anni '80 c'era un'energia incredibile nell'aria e ogni giorno portava una creatività nuova. I giovani erano come una razza nuova e inusitata. Mi piaceva girare per le strade, i bar, le discoteche, i concerti, fotografando quella nuova generazione fluorescente. Così ho dipinto tutti quei volti un po' spiritati usando le deformazioni e i viraggi che la polaroid mi dava. L'ho chiamata
Polaroichkeit, primo tentativo di trasporre in pittura un tic tecnologico e insieme celebrazione della mia generazione 		 
 
 

 

 

 

 

 

 

In the early 80's there was an incredible energy in the air, the new ideas were seemingly everywhere and brought about new creativity. The young crowd seemed like a new and unusual race. I used to enjoy observing them on the streets, at discos, cafés and concerts while I photographed this new flashy generation of youth.
So with these images in my mind, I painted all those somehow hallucinating faces with the help of my Polaroid. I called it Polaroichkeit, a first attempt to transpose onto a painting a technological tic and at the same time, a celebration of my generation
