Da bambino, quando avevo la febbre, vedevo turbini di mandala “optical”. Mi è parso naturale associarli alle rappresentazioni delle vertigini sacre e alla danza estatica. Abissi ipnotici da dove scaturiscono epifanie mistiche e in cui precipitano le figure sciamaniche, i dervisci di Rumi, le ballerine indiane, gli angeli barocchi, gli attori del Kathakali, le baccanti di Dioniso.

  
 
 

 

 As a child, when I had a fever I used to see whirlwinds of "optical" mandalas and it seemed natural to me to associate them with the representations of the sacred dizziness and the ecstatic dances. Hypnotic abysses from where mystical epiphanies spring and in which fall shaman figures- Rumi dervishes, Indian dancers, baroque angels, actors of Kathakali, and bacchantes of Dionysus.
